Park City – August 2018

The final leg of our trip was to Park City, UT. I had never been riding here before so was excited to see what it was all about. Eric secured us great digs across the street from Park City Mountain Resort (PCMR). It was nice to be able to ride/walk from the condo the whole time.

We did some research on Trailforks to figure out a ride for day one and wound up with:

Armstrong – Mid Mountain – Pinecone –  Down to Shadow Lake – Keystone – Apex – Lower CMG – John’s – 420 – Flat Cable – Sweeney

Almost 25 miles and 4200 ft of elevation gain. Good introduction to PCMR trail network.

We met back up near Shadow Lake

Day 2 was another ride starting at PCMR. We headed up Armstrong and then went:

Mid Mountain – Spiro – Jenny’s – CMG – Loose Moose – John’s 99 – Empire Link – Mid Mountain – Jenny’s – Loose Moose

About 24 mi and 3900 ft of elevation. I may be off a bit in the sequence of trails because Strava has a bunch of miscellaneous segments with names not related to the actual trail.

This building was about 20 ft off the ground. There must be a lot of snow.

Had no idea there was such a history of mining in this area

This area was mid-mountain. I think it was called Bonanza.

Day 3 was again up Armstrong and this time we took Mid Mountain toward The Canyons. Specific route was:

Armstrong – Mid Mountain – Iron Man – Mid Mountain – Iron Man – Goldfinger – Mid Mountain – Red Coat – Insurgent – Canyon Lodge – Bike Path back to Park City

I didn’t take any photos that day. Good thing we had Sharon as official trip photographer.

About 26 mi and 3,500 ft of elevation gain.

It started raining about 30 min after we got back to the condo.

I didn’t take any photos on day 3. Here are Sharon’s photos: https://photos.app.goo.gl/Rr1YWNHFWdp3nzbH8
