1st CNF ride since all this rain started

I hadn’t ridden in the Cleveland National Forest since before Christmas. There was a break in the rain so I decided to ride Maple Springs to Silverado Motorway with a detour to Modjeska Peak. A few washouts on the Motorway, but surprisingly the trails are in good shape given how much rain has been received this winter (my backyard weather station says 22″ since 10/1/2018).

Almost to Modjeska Peak looking toward Corona

It was a surprise to see the poppys along the 15 between Corona and Elsinore.

Look close for the poppy superbloom

The western side of Modjeska Peak was in the clouds. It was chilly.

Looking into Harding Canyon

Looking north along Santa Anas

After leaving Modjeska Peak, I wanted to keep rolling so didn’t stop for photos. For all the cars that were parked along the road, I saw 1 other rider and 3 hikers. That is what I love about the Santa Ana mountains.
